Open to all English Speaking Countries! “Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.”Ralph Waldo Emerson Let me tell you about my Credentials: I have BS in Dietetics and am close to receiving my MS Degree in Dietetics (Spring 2009) from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, which is located an hour and a half north east of Pittsburgh. I have completed the required 900 hour ADA Dietetic Internship at the Indiana University as well, and will sit for the RD exam soon to become a Registered Dietitian. (Wish me luck!) A majority of my dietetic internship was counseling patients with (but not limited to) trouble losing/ gaining weight, diabetes, eating disorders, and high cholesterol. Do you feel Dietitians are the “food police” and judge people based on what they eat? I DON’T! I’M HUMAN LIKE YOU! I ENJOY EATING PIZZA, CHICKEN WINGS, BEER, DONUTS, AND CAKE! The key is MODERATION! Would you listen to a Dietitian who has not had troubles with weight loss? Possibly…but it’s easier to receive advice from someone who has struggled and been frustrated by weight issues. I’m not claiming that I have suffered what you have been through. Witness the story below of a frustrated obese child… The year is 1994. School begins for a 9 year old boy on a gloomy September day in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. Children are shuffling into the classroom and the bell sounds for class to begin. Donuts are offered by the teacher every morning to start the day in class. Unfortunately, they are thrown away if not eaten. The boy knew that wasting food was a sin, so the leftover donuts were consumed by him. School is in recess, and the evening hours tick away at home. The boy receives a dinner invitation from a friend across the street. He graciously accepts to be kind, and proceeds out the door to return home after the meal concludes. Dinner is served when the boy arrives at home and he begins to dine casually. This was a common occurrence in the boys daily life. Unfortunately, the child did not realize that pounds were piling onto his tiny body… 50 to be exact. His large body became an obvious target for children to torment him. Wearing thick glasses did not help the boy either…Relentless teasing resulted in severe depression and low self esteem. “Happy are those who dream dreams and are ready to pay the price to make them come true.”Leon J. Suenes Years went by and the boy found himself tormented by his peers at middle school due to his weight. Life became much more difficult…Name calling became more severe, self esteem declined dramatically, and suicide became a valid end to it all… The battering of mental abuse continued on a daily basis. Years of verbal anguish contributed to a nervous breakdown at home after school. Feelings of anger, hatred, and retribution built up inside. Determination to lose weight finally occurred. However, moral support and unique incentives were offered to help encourage weight loss. A $50.00 reward was proposed by the boy’s mother if weight was lost. Dates were offered from girls at school, and the boy was told that he would be “cute” if he lost weight. Complements from the opposite sex, a cash reward, and the possibility of eliminating verbal torture were more than enough benefits to help encourage weight loss. Thus, a quest for weight loss began. Meals were replaced with cereal bars and water. An intense exercise regimen consisting of weight lifting for 30 minutes and stationary cycling for 1 hour began daily. The pounds slowly started to melt away…However, feelings of despair did not. An emotional fire of hatred and negativity was fiercely burning in the depth of the boy’s soul due to the years of torment he faced from his peers. The boy was constantly disrespectful to his parents, which frustrated and infuriated them. Joining a sports team, shipping off to boot camp, or boarding school became a decision the boy was forced to make. A small YMCA in a desolate town received a new swim team member a few days later. The clerk at the front desk was approached by an overweight child with shaggy brown hair that was slowly creeping below his shoulder blades who wore a shirt with a black skull and baggy jeans that were five sizes larger than they needed to be. The boy was directed to the pool area after a brief confrontation. The legacy of an elite swimmer was about to emerge unbeknownst to the swim team community…as well as the boy wearing the black skull shirt. Questing for weight loss remained a priority, so the boy’s diet remained unchanged. Little did he know that swimming five days a week for two hours required increased energy that was lacking from the boys diet. Weight was decreasing and change was noticed. Surprisingly, satisfaction was not felt and was replaced with despair, fatigue, and confusion. The boy needed advice and direction. Protein powder was suggested by body builders to help increase energy after weight training. Tiny miracles in the form of diet pills could be purchased for a boost. Much needed direction was given and a sense of serenity filled the boy’s heart. A swim meet was rapidly approaching, and feelings of humiliation and laughter haunted the boy at the conclusion of the competition. Diving was not taught which resulted in the boy falling in the pool at the start of each race, which also resulted in finishing last. Laughter echoed in the boys head from the crowd after he emerged from the water feeling worthless. The crowd and teammates suggested choosing another sport to avoid further humiliation. Anger and frustration built up inside the boy and he vowed that these people would never laugh at him again… “Our greatest glory is not in never falling but in rising every time we fall.”Confucius Losing weight as a priority was replaced with becoming an expert swimmer. The boy was the first to arrive and the last to leave at every practice. He was determined to achieve greatness, and this occurred rather quickly… Performance improved greatly in the months that followed, and the boy found himself finishing first in front of veteran swimmers in every race. He became hated by opposing teams. The boy qualified for the district and state swim meet mere months after he began swimming, which was unheard of by veteran swimmers and coaches. Months passed and happiness was yet to be found in the new athlete despite his recent success. The swimmer who qualified for elite competitions found that he was finishing behind other swimmers in races, and he did not understand why. The coach approached his prodigy and began discussing performance issues during races. The boy discussed with the coach the problems he faced with weight, diet, and advice he received. He told the coach his methods of losing weight. The coach was appalled after the discussion with his young swimmer. Proper advice was given to the young swimmer about eating and misconceptions were erased from the boy’s memory. Eating a balanced healthy diet would help increase energy and performance during swim races. Mood would increase with proper diet. Skepticism filled the boy and he was reluctant to change his habits. The simplicity to the solution of his problem surprised the boy. However, he decided to make the changes after much debate in his mind. A healthy weight was eventually achieved, and a champion athlete emerged. The obese boy wearing the black skull shirt with the shaggy hair became the first swimmer of his YMCA to swim at the national level of competition. He eventually swam in college for two years and completed an Olympic distance triathlon in the years to come. This was a summary of my struggle with weight. I never wanted anyone else to put themselves through the hell that I did, and became determined to help people lose weight effectively. Nutrition and exercise became appealing candidates for study in college. I hope my story has motivated you to make the important decision to buy a session with me. I will contact you within 48 hours when you buy it now and pay through paypal. I will send you a short information sheet through email to fill out before I contact you for your personalized session. I also want you to think about this…How did the ROMAN GLADIATORS train to fight in the coliseum years ago? Their lives depended on the strength, agility, and overall physique of their body. (Perhaps they consumed an energy drink before battle?) Think about the first Olympic athletes of 1896 in Greece. How did they train for their sport? How did they maintain a healthy weight? Did they take DIET PILLS? DID THEY FOLLOW THE ATKINS DIET? DID THEY BUY SPECIALTY EXERCISE MACHINES OR GO TO THE GYM CONSTANTLY? THE OBVIOUS ANSWER IS NO!!! SO HOW DID THEY REMAIN FIT? The key is eating food in MODERATION and EXERCISING MOST DAYS! LET ME HELP YOU MAKE REALISTIC CHANGES THAT YOU CAN LIVE WITH! DIETS DO NOT WORK! PILLS DO NOT WORK! MIRACLE EXERCISE MACHINES DON’T WORK! SIMPLE REALISTIC LIFESTYLE CHANGES DO! I HAVE FAITH THAT YOU CAN CHANGE! DISCLAIMER: THIS SESSION IS NOT MEANT TO CURE OR TREAT ANY DISEASE.
